Magnesium Glycinate is supplied as a powder in two grades, set by magnesium content: min. 14.0% and min. 18.0%, both determined by titration. It is sold in bulk by the kilogram, with pound and gram conversions available for quoting, so a requirement written in lb or g can be priced without converting it first. Every lot is batch-numbered, and that number follows the material through to the paperwork that ships with it. The two grades are different materials, not two readings of one specification: they are set at different magnesium levels, so one cannot stand in for the other in a finished formula without recalculation. Formulating with Magnesium Glycinate

Magnesium glycinate is used in capsules, tablets, powder blends and drink mixes. It is supplied as a dry powder rather than a solution or a ready-made premix, so it is normally taken in at the blending stage; if it has to sit inside an existing blend or a particular dosage form, send that form and your target inclusion level with the enquiry and we will check the current lot against it before quoting. Formula calculations run on magnesium content, and that is the figure that differs between the grades. A formula written against the 14.0% grade has to be recalculated before the 18.0% grade goes into it, and the same holds the other way round, so confirm the grade and the lot's own figure on the certificate of analysis before a batch record is finalised. Loss on drying, heavy metals and microbiology are reported on that same document.
