What to specify in your quote request

Excipients are chosen for how they behave in your process, so specify them as precisely as the actives: the compendial standard your specification cites (for example USP), the particle size or mesh, the bulk density, and for materials such as microcrystalline cellulose or starch, the specific grade your process was validated on. For acids, name the form (L-, D- or DL-) and whether you need an anhydrous or coated grade. State any source requirement your label depends on, for example a vegetable source for magnesium stearate, and ask for the current lot's COA with the quote.
